Massive wood extension to a highschool and vocational college in Kajaani. New functions in the old building required new offices and break rooms for teachers and so a new wing was built on the site. CLT-structure was produced locally and assembled in a tent and finally clad with aluminium and Siberian larch.

Much attention was paid in detailing the building in a way that the good qualities of wood are taken advantage of and interior spaces are acoustically, aesthetically and haptically pleasant. With impeccable indoor air quality as well.
